In its fifth year of existence, art forum berlin established itself as a starting point for young galleries and a place of opportunity for commercial spaces from Central and Eastern Europe. While in previous years, galleries from West Germany played a key role in the art fair’s concept, it is now fledgling Berlin-based spaces that have taken the initiative. In addition, both the fair and the city of Berlin seem to be financially accessible to participants from Central and Eastern Europe.
The presence of seven galleries from Russia indicates that the art market in this eastern country is on the rise. Taking part in art forum berlin this year are Aidan, Guelman, Regina, XL, Xenia, Elena Vrublevskaya (all from Moscow), and Arka (Vladivostok in the Far East). The only other gallery from the area represented at the fair is the Jiří Švestka Gallery, from Prague.
Scandinavian galleries have also strengthened their presence in Berlin as for their first time three galleries from Finland take part in the fair, increasing the number of Nordic participants to 15. This year’s art forum berlin runs from September 27 till October 1.

Nick Land – An Experiment in Inhumanism Nick Land – An Experiment in Inhumanism
Nick Land was a British philosopher but is no longer, though he is not dead. The almost neurotic fervor with which he scratched at the scars of reality has seduced more than a few promising academics onto the path of art that offends in its originality. The texts that he has left behind are reliably revolting and boring, and impel us to castrate their categorization as “mere” literature.
An unsuccessful co-production An unsuccessful co-production
If you know your way around, you might discover that every month and maybe even every week you stand the chance to receive money for your cultural project. Successful applicants have enough money, average applicants have enough to keep their mouths shut, and the unsuccessful ones are kept in check by the chance that they might get lucky in the future. One natural result has been the emergence of…

Acts, Misdemeanors and the Thoughts of the Persian King Medimon Acts, Misdemeanors and the Thoughts of the Persian King Medimon
There is nothing that has not already been done in culture, squeezed or pulled inside out, blown to dust. Classical culture today is made by scum. Those working in the fine arts who make paintings are called artists. Otherwise in the backwaters and marshlands the rest of the artists are lost in search of new and ever surprising methods. They must be earthbound, casual, political, managerial,…
