I didn’t study at an art-oriented school. I never participated in any art competition or show. I do not aspire to revolt and I detest any efforts to arouse profound feelings in contemporary art. Despite missing out on all that, I seek out experiences of geometry and introspection. Each geometric element has its aesthetic approach that is dependent on individual experience.
I am interested in how artists decide whether to use brush or ruler, if they a person or thing, if they go into architecture or sculpture...
I label my work as isolating abstraction. I extract some aspects from the composition, removing relationships from their contexts, thus endowing them with an independent existence. I try to separate from what has been seen, and I use the simplest of visual aids: a ball point pen and a square. My experiments emerge from raw ideas that come from engaging in the unanticipated whole of the work.
