Berlin’s Art Forum
This year’s Art Forum Berlin promises once again to exceed previous annuals and attract an interesting mix of established and emerging galleries and institutions. The biggest representations outside Germany traditionally come from the United States, Great Britain and the Nordic countries. Proven names will include Leo Koenig (New York), Wang (Oslo), Nordenhake (Berlin), Gagosian (Berlin) and Helga de Alvear (Madrid) among others. New faces will include presentations by cutting-edge galleries from New York (Pierogi, Eyestorm, Maccarone), Paris (Anton Weller, du Jour), and London (modern art inc, Asprey Jacque, and Hales). The hot news this year is that the fair will present three exhibitors from Chine and one from Cuba. Presentations by East European countries will be dominated by the strong trio from Moscow consisting of Aidan, XL and Regina, as well as Prague’s Jiří Švestka Gallery. The nimble galleries Škuc, from Ljubljana, and Trafó, from Budapest, will make their first appearance this year. Art Forum Berlin runs from October 3-7.
