A complete edition of films and remaining footage of live performances of Vít Soukup. In the package are two DVDs, a catalogue with the texts of Terezie Nekvindová, Ivan Mečl, Radek Wohlmuth and a commented filmography with Vít Soukup's drawings for the original VHS case. In Czech and with English subtitles. Published in cooperation with VVP AVU.

An evening consisting of excerpts from Vít Soukup’s films, a staged reading of his unpublished dramatic work, and Soukup’s songs as performed by the band “Songs from the films of Vít Soukup”.

moderated by: Michal Pěchouček and Jan Materna

The DVD represents the first comprehensive publication of all the films by painter Vít Soukup (1971–2007) that could be found five years after his death. His most commonly shown films are his so-called “tetralogy” (Return from Space, Nailing the Sun to the Sky, Red Yard, Norwegian Sweaters), produced in 2003 by Divus publishing’s TeleDVision, it was preceded by his many student films (which his later work seamlessly follows up on). These have been digitized from their original VHS format and provided with English subtitles.

Bonus: Tequilla Dance (2001) by Ivan Mečl and Kakalíka and Magic of Engagement (2001) by Michal Pěchouček

Editors: Terezie Nekvindová, Sláva Sobotovičová

Texts: Ivan Mečl, Terezie Nekvindová, Radek Wohlmuth

“A person must shake someone’s hand three times while gazing intently into their eyes. That’s the key to memorizing their name with certainty. It is in this way that I’ve remembered the names of 5,000 people who have been to the Horse Hospital,” Jim Hollands told me. Hollands is an experimental filmmaker, musician and curator. In his childhood, he suffered through tough social situations and…

Nick Land – An Experiment in Inhumanism Nick Land – An Experiment in Inhumanism
Nick Land was a British philosopher but is no longer, though he is not dead. The almost neurotic fervor with which he scratched at the scars of reality has seduced more than a few promising academics onto the path of art that offends in its originality. The texts that he has left behind are reliably revolting and boring, and impel us to castrate their categorization as “mere” literature.
