The experiment seemed simple at first. Can one align the events in peoples lives with the energy put into one’s work? How can one assess that? It was also thought perhaps that the female role in life might shed some light on this question. The editors at Umelec Magazine circulated an informal questionaire; It was thought that the female role might shed some light on this question. Asked to chart their lives with their art, many said, “yes, I’d love to,” but it was not uncommon that people would turn around, and say that when they confronted their own life this way, they were unable to continue. Three Czech female artists picked up the challenge: Jitka Valová, Jana Kalinova, and Veronika Holcová.
