The latest return to Divus for Prague Improvisation Orchestra, after their successful premiere in October 2012. This time the group of fifteen enthusiastic improvisers will perform with special guests:

Bass clarinetist Susanna Gartmayer from Vienna and Californian computer music pioneer Tim Perkis.
PIO builds their work in the tradition of internationally-renowned ensembles such as Sun Ra Arkestra (US), Scratch Orchestra (UK) and Globe Unity Orchestra (DE).

Borrowing heavily from fairy tales, fables and science fiction, the art of Magda Tóthová revolves around modern utopias and social models and their failures. Her works address personal and social issues, both the private and the political. The stylistic device of personification is central to the social criticism emblematic of her work and to the negotiation of concepts used to construct norms.…

Pověsti o těžkých časech na trhu s uměním jsou opět velmi přehnané...

Letošní 50. ročník Art Basel přilákal celkem 93 000 návštěvníků a sběratelů z 80 zemí světa. 290 prémiových galerií představilo umělecká díla od počátku 20. století až po současnost. Hlavní sektor přehlídky, tradičně v prvním patře výstavního prostoru, představil 232 předních galerií z celého světa nabízející umění nejvyšší kvality. Veletrh ukázal vzestupný trend prodeje prostřednictvím galerií jak soukromým sbírkám, tak i institucím. Kromě hlavního veletrhu stály za návštěvu i ty přidružené: Volta, Liste a Photo Basel, k tomu doprovodné programy a výstavy v místních institucích, které kvalitou daleko přesahují hranice města tj. Kunsthalle Basel, Kunstmuseum, Tinguely muzeum nebo Fondation Beyeler.
