V rámci Dne architektury se veřejnosti otevřou prostory bývalých papíren ve Vraném nad Vltavou. Součástí programu budou komentované prohlídky areálu, dětská dílna na výrobu papíru, výstava historických fotografií mapujících osud papíren a projekce dokumentárního filmu.
Areál papíren se v součastnosti proměnil v Perlu, nové město těch co tvoří. Záměrem je postupná revitalizace objektů a vytvoření prostoru s novým aktuálním obsahem, zaměřeným především na umělecké, uměleckořemeslné a sociokulturní aktivity, které ocení nejen místní, ale i přespolní návštěvníci, a které na základě komunitního a spolkového fungování nastaví zrcadlo institucionální kulturní scéně.
Papírny založila rodina Haasů v r. 1837. Byla známa výrobou specializovaného papíru - bankovek, cigaretového papíru, papíru na výrobu biblí a koránů. Svou činnost ukončili v r. 2000 po letech vleklého hledání vhodného investora.
